Herschel Transformation and Diversity Policy and Presentations

In 2018, our Prep and Senior school parents, Old Herschelians and invited guests had the honour of hearing an address from Professor Johnathan Jansen, former Vice-Chancellor at the University of Free State & currently in the Faculty of Education at Stellenbosch University. Professor Jansen spoke on the topic “How do we educate and enable our daughters to be successful in a diverse society?”

The aim of the talk was to start the conversation of diversity and inclusivity at Herschel, and to bring the parents along on our journey. It was an awesome and inspiring evening. For those of you who were unable to attend, please see below the links to the presentations. There is an Introduction by the Head of our Diversity and Transformation Committee, Mr Logan Govender, two short talks by recent Old Herschelians who reflect on their time at Herschel, and Professor Jansen’s speech and Q&A afterwards. We have also included links to the 2017 and 2018 Transformation Reports, as well as the Herschel Diversity and Transformation Policy.
