Grade 5 knit-athon for charity

At the end of last Term, the annual Grade 5 Knit-athon was held in the Technology Classroom. The Grade 5s came to class with thirty stitches cast onto their needles, and loads of enthusiasm and excitement! For many of the girls, this was there first attempt at knitting, and moms, grans and au pairs were there to assist with the process of teaching, untangling and encouraging.  The morning produced approximately 12 completed squares, with loads more on the way. The squares are donated to the Grey Ladies Association of St Saviour’s, where they are made up into blankets and donated to charitable organisations.

Last year over 850 squares were produced, and the girls are aiming to equal or better this amount.

A huge thank you to all those who assisted on the day.
