A number of our girls achieved amazing results in their chosen sports during the holidays and did themselves, and Herschel, proud!
Congratulations to the following girls:
Gabi Cotchebos and Amy Goodwin (both Grade 10) who won gold at the IPT (U16) held in Bloemfontein.
Kayla De Waal (Grade 11) who participated in the SA biathle championships in George and came 2nd in the girls U19 category. She has been selected for the SA team to participate in Spain in September.
Katja Da Luz (Grade 11) who participated at the Western Cape Inter District Netball Tournament held in Wellington and represented WP. They were unbeaten throughout the tournament and won GOLD!
Kamron Van Schalkwyk (Grade 12) who participated in the All Ages Netball Tournament, held in Boksburg, Gauteng, where she represented the Western Cape. Her team, the U18 Oaks, placed fifth in the country. Kamron was also selected for the U18 South African Netball Squad out of 22 U18 teams from the nine provinces.
Olivia Nel (Grade 9), Georgia Nel (Grade 9) and Hannah Pearse (Grade 8) who participated in the Western Cape Winter Swimming Champs. In the Girls 14-15 years category, 200m Free, Georgia won gold, Olivia silver and Hannah bronze…a clean sweep on the podium of Herschel girls!
Olivia also won gold in the 100m Backstroke, with Hannah taking bronze. In the 400m Free, Georgia won gold, with Hannah once again taking the bronze.
Olivia also broke two new WP age group records in the 50m and 100m Free.
